The assignment consisted in the development of a first home high-density condominium (572 apartments), facing the seashore of the northern Chilean desert. The idea is to develop a sort of oasis, constituted by a huge four-level system of water pools and waterfalls, contained by the surrounding buildings, and facing the sea.
The strong slope of the site is recognized in three great stepped swimming pools that overflow smoothly one on another by means of four waterfalls. Each pool includes a crossing terrace connecting the stepped apartments buildings at the sides. The “U” form layout of the three main buildings, in addition of protecting the pools from the wind, allows the optimization of the views towards the sea, from the apartments. The condominium, formed by this three independent volumes, is linked to the seaside avenue by means of amenities open to the public: a restaurant, a spa, and the front waterfall.
